REDEYE FITNESS Do's & Don'ts of Sauna Use

Saunaing???! using the sauna, chillin in the sauna, bickin back in the sauna bein bool, whatever you may call it, I really enjoy using the sauna, you know that wooden room in the gym that produces heat, not confused with a hot spring full of monkeys as pictured above lol. It wasn't always like that though. I didn't know how to properly “sauna” in the beginning. I’d go in there, sweat on my only pair of clothes, feel nasty, then drive home after panicking in a hot fury and not wanting to experience that again. So with that, please allow me to walk you through the sauna life.

I enjoy stretching in the sauna prior to a workout. Loosens up the muscles and joints, especially if you're into AM workouts. I really enjoy the sauna after a workout though. It relaxes tight muscles and is just a great way to relax in general. Beyond that, countless research supports the health benefits of regular sauna use (Thank the Swedish).

Before we even get into the health benefits of sauna use, let us go over simple sauna educate, by exploring the “REDEYE FITNESS Do's & Don'ts of Sauna Use”

  1. Do wear swimwear, underwear, or a change of clothes you can comfortably sweat your ass in, literally.

  2. Do take a towel to wipe your excessive drip.

  3. Do drink plenty of water throughout your day so that you are properly hydrated for the sauna.

  4. Do exit the sauna if you feel light headed, dizzy, or at a loss of senses well in the sauna, PLEASE immediately.

  5. Do not consume water well inside the sauna (do not bring water bottles, etc.).

You can not cheat the sauna, and hydrating well inside the sauna, ojr leaving and coming back inside, do take away from the benefits of sauna use. Unless of course, one just cares for mere relaxation, then... I guess... your okay... but reflect on what happens to plastic in hot temperatures???? Hmmmmmmm

Next week I will cover the health benefits of using the sauna. In the meantime, get your drip down.
